Alienware has announced the availability of the new Microsoft Windows XP Professional x64 operating system on its Alienware MJ-12 7550a workstation. Powered by Windows x64, MJ-12 7550a workstations offer faster performance and greater reliability while delivering a migration to 64-bit applications. In addition, Windows x64 will soon be available on Alienware's other desktop workstations.

With support for up to 128GB RAM, Windows XP Professional x64 Edition allows the Alienware MJ-12 7550a to provide increased performance for memory-intensive applications by speeding up the manipulation and rendering of large digital files. Memory bottlenecks are reduced when working with large files thanks to improved communication between RAM and hard drives, according to Alienware.

Optimized for 64-bit processors, the Windows x64-based MJ-12 7550a workstation gives users the power and versatility to run both 32-bit applications and 64-bit applications on the same system. By offering the most reliable and secure Microsoft operating system available, the MJ-12 7550a delivers the stability of a server in a desktop.

With Windows XP Professional x64 Edition, the MJ-12 7550a now features the enhancements of Windows XP Professional and Windows XP Service Pack 2, such as advanced wireless support, increased manageability and control, and stronger security settings.
