Christie Powers Up Line Of 3-Chip DLP Projectors
Posted Oct 12, 2005 Print Version     Page 1of 1

Christie, a provider of visual solutions for business, entertainment, and industry, has announced a number of enhancements to its DS+ series of digital projectors, the Christie DS+5K and the Christie DS+8K. Featuring the latest-generation 3-chip DLP technology, the projectors now offer a 50% increase in lamp life, delivering 1,500 hours under typical use, according to Christie.

External handles allow for easier handling, with field-alignable DMDs and a cleanable optical engine, making them the appropriate companions for quick, reliable set-up in trade shows and rental/staging environments, Christie reports. Brightness levels have also been significantly boosted. The Christie DS+5K offers increased brightness levels of up to 6,500 ANSI lumens, up from a previous 5,000 ANSI Lumens; the Christie DS+8K, originally offering 8,000 ANSI lumens, now offers up to 8,500 ANSI lumens.

The projectors also feature SXGA+ resolution (1400x1050), 10-bit image processing, and variable contrast ratios of 1600-2000:1, with Xenon illumination for crisp, clean images and excellent color saturation. The Christie DS+ series includes improved cooling efficiency for reduced noise. The high-bandwidth signal processing supports features such as Picture-in-Picture and seamless switching between sources. Onboard ChristieNET networking allows the projectors to be controlled and maintained remotely from anywhere in the world.
