Corel Corporation (NASDAQ:CREL) (TSX:CRE) today announced that Corel® Direct DiscRecorder(TM) – Move Edition has passed Blu-ray Disc® Recordable Format 1.0 verification testing. By passing the verification testing, Corel Direct DiscRecorder – Move Edition has met the stringent guidelines set by the Blu-ray Disc Association proving the recording of premium content on Blu-ray recordable discs (BD-Rs).

Users can easily record home movies on BD-Rs in BDAV format, meeting AACS protection standards. Recorded discs may contain nearly two hours of full-quality HD video on a single-layer 25GB BD-R.

Corel Direct DiscRecorder – Move Edition also supports the transfer of Japanese Digital TV content from hard drive to BD-R media with AACS protection, providing users the opportunity to record their favorite HD television shows on Blu-ray Discs.

"Corel is committed to making it easier for consumers to experience the full benefits of HD at home," said Denise MacDonell Senior Director Product Management, Digital Media at Corel. "With a cost-effective solution for recording HD content on DVDs and now a proven Blu-ray Disc recording experience, Corel has proven it meets the needs of today's consumers, providing HD recording for all home users."

Corel Direct DiscRecorder – Move Edition with Blu-ray Disc Recordable Format 1.0 verification is now available to OEMs worldwide.
