Posted Jun 1, 2009 Print Version     Page 1of 1

Macrovision Solutions Corporation (NASDAQ: MVSN), a digital entertainment technology leader, today announced its intention to formally change its name to Rovi. The Rovi brand is part of the company’s new brand identity that includes a new corporate visual design. Macrovision will continue to operate under the Macrovision name until the annual meeting of stockholders being held on July 15, 2009, at which time the name change will be considered for approval. If the stockholders approve the change of the company name, the company’s trading symbol on the NASDAQ Global Select Market would also be changed at that time.

"At Macrovision, we have transformed the company to be a leader in enabling the rapid adoption of digital entertainment. We have done this through a series of strategic acquisitions, divestitures and continued innovation of our product portfolio, and as a result, the company is dramatically different than it was just a year ago," said Fred Amoroso, President and CEO, Macrovision. "As Rovi, we will unite our technology and people under one shared identity that speaks to who we have become and how we will drive our strategy moving forward as a technology leader that powers the discovery and enjoyment of digital entertainment."
