DCA and Philips Kick off an Exclusive, Global Partnership in Optical Disc Formatter Technologies

Doug Carson & Associates, Inc. (DCA) and Philips today announced a global partnership in optical disc formatter technologies. Starting immediately DCA will be the exclusive distributor of Philips’ developed optical disc formatter technology branded "Pit O’Resc," including the encoder hardware, firmware and software.

This technology was developed by Philips to enable the manufacture of master discs for optical media formats such as CD, DVD and Blu-ray Disc. DCA will continue to supply the board within its Titan mastering product for complete Blu-ray, DVD or CD mastering, with integration on all available Blu-ray Disc Laser Beam Recorders in the market. Customers will benefit as DCA will be able to offer a complete suite of optical disc mastering technologies as well as continued support of the Pit O’Resc technology.

Transfer of the related technology and expertise is expected to be completed in Q3 of 2009.
