Adaptec, Inc. has extended its RAID and SCSI product line with a new family of Ultra320 SCSI controllers that couple the industry's fastest data transfer rates with robust integrated RAID for data protection, Adaptec says. Adaptec's Ultra320 SCSI controller family features RAID striping, mirroring, and hot spare support to bolster data protection and maximize system performance and uptime. In addition, only Adaptec's Ultra320 SCSI controllers support four hard disk drives and two arrays per channel to provide the most integrated RAID storage capacity. Adaptec's Ultra320 SCSI family consists of the following controllers: the mid-range, two-channel 39320D-R and 39320-R; the 39320D, optimized for external SCSI connections; the 39320 for internal SCSI connections; the one-channel 29320-R and 29320LP-R, designed for entry-level servers and high-performance workstations; and the ASC-29320LP-R, a low-profile controller designed for rackmount servers. The Adaptec Ultra320 SCSI card family with HostRAID is now shipping.
