Canon U.S.A. has released the LV-5200, an ultra-portable LCD projector with 1.5X motorized zoom and enhanced connectivity for a wide range of presentation setups. Multiple interfaces include a DVI-I terminal and analog input/output port for linking to laptops, Visualizers, DVD players, VCRs, video game consoles, and external monitors. Using Canon's Quiet Mode, fan noise is reduced to 34 decibels. The LV-5200's comprehensive wireless remote puts presenters in "complete control," says Canon, with instant access to functions like digital zoom, image freeze, and gamma adjustment. The LV-5200 projects at 1700 ANSI lumens, and in addition to its native SVGA (800x600) resolution, offers XGA (1024x768) resolution with high-quality compression. Other features includd Contrast Mode for sharper data projection and Cinema Mode for crisper full motion video. Keystone Correction eliminates distortion, according to Canon, when the LV-5200 is slightly tilted from the screen. The Canon LV-5200 will be available in February at authorized Canon dealers, with a suggested list price of $2,499. (http://www.usa.canon.com)
