Proximity Announces VideoRipper
Posted Apr 9, 2004 Print Version     Page 1of 1

Developed to provide superior video output quality and an expanded feature set than capture and encoding solutions currently designed for post production and duplication, Proximity has announced the introduction of the VideoRipper video ingestion system. Proximity, a leading media asset management company serving the television, film, and post production industries, will introduce and demonstrate VideoRipper in the company's booth at NAB 2004 (Booth #SU9600) in Las Vegas.

VideoRipper allows users to capture video from tape and encode to frame-accurate MPEG or GXF video files with or without an accompanying program slate--in a single operation. VideoRipper also generates the associated metadata and publishes clips directly to a Proximity Artbox content management system or FTP server--all from one computer running anywhere on the network.

VideoRipper can capture video from any tape deck supporting Sony's 9-Pin RS422 protocol using SDI, composite video, or component video. VideoRipper supports a large number of encoding formats, including broadcast-quality MPEGs, GXFs, and IMX, and consistently generates superior quality video compared to alternate solutions. VideoRipper streamlines the workflow in dubbing facilities and post-production houses by allowing users to remotely configure and manage multiple tape transfers in a secure, password-protected environment.
