Globalstor Data has introduced the new FibreStor-DI. Designed specifically for digital video storage and playback requirements of HD, Digital Intermediate, Color Correction, and other eCinema and video applications, this new Fibre to Fibre Channel RAID storage solution provides sustained raw performance levels well above 700MB/sec under RAID 5, making the FibreStor-DI suited for Spirit 2K, DaVinci 2K, and other applications requiring real-time 2K Playback/Record.

FibreStor-DI includes a dual RAID controller on a separate 1U rack, two 16-bay chassis, 32 Fibre channel drives (73, 147 and 300GB) and supports RAID levels 0, 1, (0+1), 3, 5, 10, 30, 50, NRAID, and JBOD. To minimize downtime, FibreStor-DI consists of several interchangable components including dual power supplies, dual RAID controller canisters, and dual cooling modules, IO node modules, battery units and management interface modules.

FibreStor-DI prices start at $40,000 for 2.1TB using (30) 73GB 15K hdd's, $44,000 for 4.41TB using (30) 146GB 10K HDDs, or $62,000 for 9.0 TB using (30) 300GB 10 HDDs.
