NEC will introduce several new products and highlight its wide range of consumer solutions at the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES), the world's largest annual tradeshow for consumer technology and America's largest tradeshow, January 6 - 9, 2005, in Las Vegas. Among NEC's new products are several extensions to existing series of NEC-branded monitors, the ND-3500A DVD±R/RW drive, and a "current" and prototype HD-DVD drive.

The new flat-panel LCD monitors are built to enrich 3D gaming, streaming video, photo viewing/editing, and Internet use, according to NEC. At CES, NEC will launch three new flat-panel displays, including the NEC MultiSync GX and WXM Series.

NEC will also introduce the ND-3500A, a DL-capable DVD±RW drive. The NEC ND-3500A writes single-layer media at 16X.

NEC will have a prototype of a "three generation-compatible" HD-DVD drive on display as well as its "current" HD-DVD drive that records and plays back both present and next-generation DVDs.
