Procom Introduces Additions to DataFORCE NAS Appliances

August 8, 2020 | Procom Technology, Inc. has announced two new DataFORCE CD/DVD-ROM NAS appliances that can house up to 200 CDs or 25 DVDs in a single unit. The DF 300-90 and DF 300-120 can cache up to 90GB and 120GB of data, respectively. Multiple platforms, including Windows NT, Novell NetWare, UNIX, and Macintosh are supported over both Fast Ethernet and Token Ring. The DF 300-90 and DF 300-120 utilize embedded Managed Enterprise Storage Architecture (MESA) software to connect directly to network cabling, and provides access to client workstations without TSRs or proprietary software. Users can access the appliances simultaneously across supported platforms. Procom's DataFORCE 300-90 and 300-120 are available at an approximate price of $5,795 and $6,999, respectively.

Procom has also announced that its DataFORCE line of NAS products now support Video CD storage. Users can now cache Video CD discs onto the embedded hard drives of the DataFORCE, and broadcast to a variety of clients.
