Yamaha, QPS Introduce External FireWire CD-RW Drives

September 22, 2020 | Yamaha Corporation of America has introduced the CRW8824FXZ, an external CD-RW drive with a FireWire (IEEE-1394) interface. The drive features 8X write, 8X rewrite, and 24X max read speeds, and features a 4MB data buffer. The recorder is designed for both PC and Mac computers. The unit can be attached to a computer without powering down, and supports daisy-chaining. The CRW8824FXZ also makes use of Yamaha?s PurePhase laser technology. Yamaha?s CRW8824FXZ is available at an estimated street price of $349.99.

QPS, Inc. has also announced the addition of its new Que!Fire CD-RW drive to its line of FireWire products. The drive features 12X write, 10X rewrite, and 32X max read speeds, and incorporates Sanyo?s BURN-Proof technology. The drive ships with Adaptec?s Easy CD Creator and Toast, as well as Direct CD for Windows. CD-R/RW media, a protective carrying bag, and other accessories are also included. QPS?
