Iomega Unveils New External CD-R/RW drive

November 14, 2020 | Iomega Corporation has unveiled its new Predator external CD-RW drive. The drive will be compatible with both Mac and PC platforms. The drive features 8X write, 4X rewrite, and 32X max read speeds. The Predator drive will be available with a USB 1.1 adapter, which will offer 4x4x6 speeds, and a FireWire adapter which will give it full 8x4x32 performance. Additional options will include PCMCIA and USB 2.0. The drive ships with Adaptec's Easy CD Creator 4.0, Direct CD 3.0, and Toast; MusicMatch's Jukebox Plus; MGI's PhotoSuite; Iomega's Quik Sync 2; and Adobe's ActiveShare software. The drive also includes two CD-R discs, one CD-RW disc, audio cables, a data cable, and an external power supply. Iomega's Predator external CD-RW drive with USB 1.1 configuration will be available at an estimated retail price of $269.95, while the version with FireWire support will be available at an estimated retail price of $349.95.
