NTI Announces DriveBackup!
NewTech Infosystems, Inc. (NTI) has announced
NTI DriveBackup!, a new addition to its Backup NOW! line of CD-R-based
backup products. NTI DriveBackup features a “Smart Wizard” interface,
which helps the user through the software’s three primary functions:
backup, restore, and the creation of a bootable CD. The user can
also take full control of the software and set backup parameters
(including compression control), password protection, and write/verify
controls. Other features include media spanning, on-the-fly compression,
password protection, incremential/differential support, backup
scheduler, backup over a network, on-demand compare, and multiple
backup, which appends new backups to existing ones on the same

Stomp Announces Click ’N Burn for the Mac
Stomp, Inc. has announced that its Click
’N Burn CD recording software is now available for the Macintosh.
Click ’N Burn is capable of recording and editing live music,
adjusting silence gaps between audio tracks, creating hybrid PC/Mac
CD-ROM, and recording CDs in the background. The software provides
native driver support for SCSI, ATAPI, USB, and FireWire CD burners.
The CD Stomper label applicator is included with the package.

Raidtec Releases SANman
Raidtec Corporation has released SANman,
the company’s newest storage area network (SAN) management software.
SANman is designed for networks that require flexible distributed
access to one or more Raidtec FibreArray HI or FibreArray AA SAN
solutions. SANman concurrently monitors and displays environmental
information from each of the systems or arrays. Users can access
the SAN locally or remotely from anywhere on the network, and
can be alerted to events locally on the system, or remotely by
email or pager.

Smart Storage Inc. has announced that
NuGenesis Technologies has integrated SmartStor Archive software
into its NuGenesis Scientific Data Management System (SDMS). The
NuGenesis SDMS is an application-independent software and database
platform that automatically creates a common electronic format
for scientific information that can be unified, managed, and shared.
Data can be captured and stored to a variety of media including

SmartDisk Introduces VST FireRAID Software
SmartDisk has introduced VST FireRAID,
a software tool that allows two or more external hard drives to
be used together as a RAID array. The Macintosh software features
mirroring (RAID 1), which allows users to create copies of data
on one or more drives in the array. SmartDisk’s VST FireRAID is
available at a list price of $99.95.

Dot Hill Upgrades SANpath and SANscape
Dot Hill Systems Corporation has announced
enhancements to its storage area network (SAN) applications SANpath
3.1 and SANscape 2.3. SANpath 3.1 now features dynamic LUN assignment,
a feature that dynamically allocates and re-allocates server storage
resources on-the-fly. The software also provides LUN masking capabilities,
which allows multiple servers to share a common storage system.
Additionally, Linux, HP-UX, and Windows 2000 are now supported
by SANpath 3.1. SANscape 2.3 now features a “drag and drop” user
interface, and adds Linux, HP-UX, Windows 2000, and Netware as
