Pinnacle Systems Now Shipping CineWave HD Option

Pinnacle Systems, Inc. has announced the availability of the CineWave HD (high definition) option, an HD system for non-linear editing and post-production on the Power Mac G4. The CineWave is based on the TARGA architecture, and combines the TARGA Cine engine with a collection of video authoring tools including Apple’s Final Cut Pro, Commotion Pro, Hollywood FX Silver, and Knoll Light Factory. The solution includes the HD Pro Digital Option (break-out-box) for SMPTE 292 input/output, and supports all major HD formats including 1080i/30, 1080p/24, 720p/60, and 1080i/25.

Media 100 Launches CineStream

Media 100 Inc. has announced the launch of Media 100 CineStream, a software-based interactive streaming media authoring solution for professional content creators and Web developers. Available for both Windows and Macintosh platforms, Media 100 CineStream enables users to capture video content directly from digital video sources, edit video content, author interactive elements into the editing timeline, and encode the final product in all major streaming media formats. CineStream will be available at a suggested retail price of $499, and also from the company’s online store for $479. The software will be available to registered users of EditDV or MotoDV for $149.

Ulead Partners with Creative

Ulead Systems, Inc. has signed a worldwide OEM software license agreement with Creative, whereby Creative will bundle a special version of Ulead’s VideoStudio 4.0 consumer video editing software with its new Video Blaster MovieMaker. Video Blaster MovieMaker can import home videos from a camcorder or a VCR to a PC through a USB connection. Hardware-based MPEG-2 compression is used. The Video Blaster MovieMaker enables PC users to create, share, and edit digital movies, and can import movies from a camcorder or VCR to the PC through a USB connection.

Canopus to Bundle Adobe Premiere 6.0

Canopus Corporation has announced plans to bundle Adobe Premiere 6.0 with its family of DV NLE solutions, DVRexRT, DVRexRT Professional, DVStorm, and DVRaptor. Adobe Premiere 6.0 includes Web features such as one-step export to all leading Web video formats and Web markers, which allows users to set timeline markers that send HTML pages during Web video playback. Customers who purchased a Canopus DV NLE solution bundled with Adobe Premiere 5.0 are eligible for an upgrade to Premiere 6.0 for $19.99. Canopus has also announced its Video Out Plug-In for After Effects 4.1, a plug-in for Adobe’s motion graphics and visual effects software, which will be available for a suggested retail price of $249.
