VBrick Announces New Streaming MPEG-2 Appliances

April 2001 | VBrick Systems, Inc. has announced a new line of MPEG-2 network appliances. VBrick's 4000, 5000, and 6000 series appliances can deliver DVD-quality video across Internet protocol (IP) networks. The VBrick Model 4000 series are MPEG-2 encoders that can convert analog video (NTSC or PAL) to digital video. The Model 5000 series are MPEG-2 decoders that can convert digital MPEG-2 video to analog video that can be viewed on standard televisions. VBrick's Model 6000 series are full-duplex encoders/decoders designed for interactive conferencing. All of the new VBrick models include an integral web browser that allows installation and configuration over the network. Pricing for VBrick's new MPEG-2 network appliances begins at $7,495 for the Model 4200 encoder.
