Trace Affex Announces New CD-R Printer

Trace Affex has introduced its latest CD-R printer, the Affex Allegro for PCs and Macs. The Allegro offers 2880x720 print density. Based on Epson Stylus 880I ink-jet printer technology, the printer uses a "polycarb" caddy to feed two CDs through the printer. The Allegro performs 50 percent faster than previous models, according to the company, and prints in true four-color (CMYK). The Allegro can automatically change dot size, ranging from 19 picoliters to 4 picoliters. The printer connects to a computer using a standard parallel or USB cable, and can also be networked via an Axis 1440 Ethernet adapter. Optional caddy trays are available for printing CD-R business cards (80mm x 63mm). Trace Affex's Allegro CD-R Printer is available at an estimated retail price of $1695.
